I've been working with technology for over 30 years. What got me hooked? ... When I was at school, many of my friend's parents bought their first home computers. I'm talking BBC Micro, Commodore 64, Atari. My parents got me a ZX Spectrum 48. Whilst most of my friends were playing games on their machines, I was learning how to code in basic. I remember being able to access the code of the game "Football Manager", and trying to edit it to see what changes i could introduce to the game. I spent hours on this (maybe i should have spent more time on my school work).
From an early age, I've always had a desire to learn via trying something out. I've always been a very hands-on person, and whenever one of my colleagues would mention something, I'd always want to replicate it and learn a little more. However, the Piscean in me would always take over, and once I knew enough, I'd go off onto the next thing.
In life I've met some very good people (you guys know who you are), my influencers, that have always told me of something new that they have found, and started me off on a new weekend project (not limited to technology only). Having such like-minded people around me has really kept me active, and was one of the reasons I started this blog ... To detail some of what I've learnt with a hope that it will be useful to others, and save them time.
